This petition concerns the systemic exposure of minors to explicit sexual advertising on the online platform YouTube.
Despite repeated complaints submitted to the platform, advertisements containing explicit sexual content continue to appear on a platform widely used by minors.
This practice raises serious concerns under several provisions of European Union law including:
- Articles 1, 7, 8 and 24 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union
- Articles 6, 9 and 28b of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive
- Articles 14, 16, 17, 34, 35 and 37 of the Digital Services Act
The complaint addresses systemic risk management obligations of Very Large Online Platforms and requests institutional review and oversight by the European Parliament and the European Commission.
